Belucci's Restaurant Review

129 Beaconsfield Parade
Albert Park Vic

Food
Traditional Italian Cuisine, the Tuscan way of cooking. There are two types of italian dinner menus to select from. All dishes were delicious. A la carte presentation, generally with larger plates and smaller portions. We enjoyed tasty bread and calamari entree, the sweets were gorgeous including refreshing gelato.
Service
Wonderful waiters, extremely professional, friendly and polite. The hosts, Belucci and his wife were there to greet and welcome us with a kiss. They were absolutely delightful and charming.
Value
Not one of your bargain value type restaurants. Prices and service are a bit more upper class here. Mains are generally priced over $20 each.
Decor and Atmosphere
Belucci's is found in a classic building along Beaconsfield Parade next to the beach. Built in the 1890's the building was a terminus for cable trams but has housed restaurants since the 1960's. It has a warm atmosphere with a great deal of unique character and views to boot.

I used to live right there near the corner! Bellucci's like to say that the site was a tram terminus but in fact the tram never came down Kerferd Rd.

It was actually a toilet block and change rooms for beach bathers. None of the restaurants on that site have done very well - I think the first one opened in the late nineties - because it is such an odd spot and locals still refer to it as 'The Toilet Block'.

I just discovered your website. Speechless for your extensive reviews of various restaurants.

This was an unpleasant dining experience. We were 10 mins early and were punished like 2 year olds for it by the head waitress. She wouldn't let our waitress take our order because we were early and had to wait half an hour before 'the kitchen was ready'. 'That's why we like people to be on time.' THERE WERE ONLY TWO OTHER GROUPS OF DINERS!! Then it rained and all this water rushed in around our feet under the wall. The head waitress laughed and refused our request to move to one of the numerous (understandably) vacant tables. Food was average. Wine list basic. Service abhorrant. We finished our only course, paid and left and won't go back.

Head waitress needs to learn some basic manners!

We were a guest at a function there and would NEVER go back. Owner was extremely rude, yelling abuse and swearing at his wife in front of us. Can't believe he had any staff left to work for him, I would be terrified of his outbursts. Disgraceful.

I am shocked by the negative posts written about this restaurant. I went to Belucci's last night and was blown away, not only from the phenomenal food and delicate atmosphere but most importantly by the kind and attentive staff. We were pleasently suprised to have the owner/head chef visit our table on our arrival to greet us and wish us a pleasent evening. You can tell from a few minutes with this man that food is his passion and he does it very well. I have been recommending this restaurant all day and will continue to do so, i also am looking forward to them re-openeng in Sth. Melb. Our experience was so far from that descibed in some of the posts put on here that i find hard to belive they are genuine
